Om Means One

Over the years, I have chatted with many swamis, lamas, and spiritual leaders. One reflective comment that I have kept over the years is that “Om really means One.” So, when we hear the popular saying “God is One” this then brings to mind that “God is Om” also. In other words, the very idea of “One” has come from the ancient Sanskrit word and affirmation “Om” which is also the Holy Word used to name, describe, and connect with God, who is Divine Spirit (Brahman, in Sanskrit). Namaste, Keith
