At this point of my spiritual journey, I am confident beyond doubt that one of the greatest insights into God, our Divine Source, is that His Name and Nature are perfectly synonymous. They are One and The Same: OM. OM is His True Name and Greatest Name, says Swami Sivananda in “Meditation on OM”. Also, OM is the root of auspicious words like Omnipresence, Omniscience, and Omnipotence. So, OM, meaning truly unlimited in Presence (Being), Knowledge (Consciousness), and Power (Potency), is Who God Is, Existentially. Note the words of Swami Sivananda: “OM is the symbol of Brahman (The Supreme Divine Spirit). OM is the Word of power. It is the Sacred Monosyllable (single-syllable sound). It is the essence of all Vedic writings (ancient scriptures of the earliest Hindus, or Vedantins). It is the boat that will take you from the shore of darkness (fear) to the shore of light (fearlessness) and immortality. So, meditate on OM with bhava (surrender) and meaning (sincerity).” Namaste.
